A Pyschological-Romance Thriller Story
If you are planning to watch this drama, watch with caution, because it contains a lot of issues such as trauma and mental health related issues. However, this drama is actually really amazing! It's not the typical story you find in K Dramas because of the storyline. The writer really did a good job. I'm not usually one for tear-jerker and tragedy dramas, but this one blew me away.
Every episode was intense, suspenseful and kept me wanting more. Plus, it also stars Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji. The character developmemt and plot development was really good too, with an unpredictable twist. When watching the drama, you will see how the title perfectly fits the storyline as well. I absolutely loved Kim Soo Hyun from My Love From Another Star (it's a 2013 drama, but its a classic! Watch it, its so good!). Then we have the femme fatale, beautiful, boss lady Seo Ye Ji from Lawless Lawyer (this is also an amazing drama! You won't be able to enough of Seo Ye Ji and Lee Joon Gi, Watch It!).
Now on to the synopsis of It's Okay Not To Be Okay:
Ko Moon Young ( Seo Ye Ji) is a famous author of children's books. Everyone thinks of her highly and assumes to be cute and nice. However, things are not always as they seem. Ko Moon Young has anti social personality disorder causing her to act differently around people. Moon Gang Tae ( Kim Soo Hyun) is a nurse and caretaker at a pyschiatric hospital, who also lives alone with his autistic older brother, Moon Sang Tae ( Oh Sung Jae). When Moon Gang Tae crosses paths with Ko Moon Young, she begins to take a interest in him, seeing how he is the only one who doesn't run away or despise her. The two form an unlikely bonds that leads them to many obstacles and emotional healing? How will their relationship survive? And will they ever heal each other's scars?
My rating: 4/5
* I'm giving this a 4/5, because there were a few episodes during the middle of the drama, where some scenes dragged, mainly focused on a couple of side character that did not have anything to do with the plot. But other than that the, cinematography, plot and characters and acting were amazing!
Let me know if you give it try!
It's available on Netflix!
