A Light-hearted, Sweet, Slice of Life Romance
I just finished watching this drama, Way Back Into Love. Yes, this is drama sounds exactly like it's title. This drama is a sweet, light hearted office romance. It kinda reminds me of the drama, Love 020, because part of it, is a whole group of characters working together to better the company and features a lot of tech stuff too. I absolutely loved Way Back Into Love because of how it was not too plot heavy and the sweet, non clichéd romance, but told the story and simply showed the lives of the characters as a whole group.
The character developmemt was also really well written, because you see how the characters change and finally realize and have that 'oh!' in depth moment. Another aspects that was cool to see as the inner workings of a tech startup company especially by young adults in their late 20s. You got to see their struggles and resolutions as a whole group, not just with two main leads. Yes, this drama does make you feel all warm and cutesy inside, but it did not become overly cheesy and mushy, which is good, or else its not watchable anymore. For the main couple, I liked how they showed to where the relationship was realistic, such overcoming obstacles, misunderstandings and fights, even when working together at the company. They also showed their sweet moments too (watch it till the end, they have extra cut scenes!).
This drama is a total of 26 episodes, 35 minutes each, which is good if you are busy, or need another time pass drama to watch between all of the those intense plot heavy ones.
I would like to not something about these characters because its really nice. The three main leads were all supporting characters/second lead characters in other dramas. This is drama is where they are the first main character/lead. Sun Qian plays Lu Jia, and Sun Qian was actually the second lead in the 2018 Meteor Garden remake. Tang Xiao Tian or known as Daddi Tang, who plays Xu Jia Xiu, also played MoMo's high school friend and Gu Wei Yi's college roommate from Put Your Head On My Shoulder. Wang You Jun plays Ye Ang Yang in drama, also played as a supporting character in My Girlfriend is an Alien and Fall In Love
Synopsis of Way Back Into Love:
Lu Jia ( Sun Qian), a money loving, girly, feisty and fierce, financial advisor, comes back to her hometown, after spending seven years in the flashy, high scale city of Beijing. She comes back hoping a fresh start and new job. Through a wedding of an old friend, Lu Jia reconnects with some of her high school classmates, and one she did not expec, her long time crush from high school, Xu Jia Xiu ( Daddi Tang) and his best friend Ye Ang Yang (Wang You Jun). Little did she know, that Xu Jia Xiu also harbored a secret crush on her too, but was not able to express it due to a misunderstanding between them. Lu Jia ends up getting a job as CFO at a tech startup company in her hometown. She soon finds out that she would have to work with the cold, domineering, emotionless CEO and founder Xu Jia Xiu. When they start getting entangled in each other's lives, old feelings begin to resurface through many comedic incidents. Can they finally acknowledge their feelings for each other and resolve the high school misunderstanding?
My rating: 4/5
*I gave the drama a 4/5 because I felt like the ending could have shown a bit more into their relationship, like what happens in the future focuses on how the company is doing.
