GOT BOOKS?

Thinking of a new past time, or leisure activity to do? Well then how about picking up a new book to read. Ever since I was young, reading has always been a hobby for me because it led me into a whole new world and made me relax from everyday life. These days we are always on the go and become busybodies, but books are a great way to take a rest from that. Even with so much developing technology, books will never go out of style because of that certain feeling when holding one in your hands.

One book that I love is Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. Rupi Kaur is an Indian-Canadian poet, writer, and illustrator. Milk and Honey is her first collection book of poems that talk about love, loss, violence, and femininity. In the book, there are 4 chapters each with its own collection of poems that talk about a different topic, depending on the chapter. When I was reading the book, the poems were so meaningful that they cut into my emotions and captured my heart. Here is an excerpt from the book:

Of course I want to be successful

But I don’t crave success for me

I need to be successful to gain

Enough milk and honey

To help those around

Me succeed

- Rupi Kaur

*This book is an easy read because of its short poems. So whenever you need a break and want to relax from your work, or everyday life, try reading and enjoy!
